It’s an intriguing combination: from Haley Josephs’s stylized portraits of women and girls against imagined, paradisiacal backdrops, to Lucy Bull’s frenetically-textured abstract compositions, to Aaron Curry’s towering metal sculptures that combine elements from Pre-Colombian art, modernism, and digital culture.

In "I Want to Eat the Sunset. We’re Talking About the Cosmos, Even. And Love, I Guess." at Almine Rech, the selection of work on view illustrates how these three artists each conceive pieces through the lens of a distinct visual language, created in the context of their respective practices, as a means of immersion in alternate realities.
