Luchita Hurtado, who died in August at age 99, left behind a vast body of work exploring "the interconnectedness of human beings, nature, and terrestrial life," as described in Hauser & Wirth's exhibition text. "Together Forever" brings together 30 paintings and charcoal drawings that, dating back to the 1960s—and with many pieces on display for the first time—effectively survey the Venezuelan-American artist's decades-long penchant for depicting herself as subject matter, whether directly or implicitly.
