In her first solo show at Simon Lee’s New York space—and her fifth with the gallery overall—Swiss artist Mai-Thu Perret unveils new ceramics and tapestries. Many of the works feature abstract forms and allusions to the natural world; two woven tapestries and a series of ceramic baskets nod to traditional craft-making practices, with a futuristic, feminist spin.

From the gallery:

Known for her multi-disciplinary practice that engages installation, performance, sculpture, ceramics and textiles, Perret derives inspiration from a range of twentieth-century avant-garde and radical art movements, including Dada, Constructivism and Bauhaus design.
