Presented by Housing, "100% Salt" is Jamaican-American artist Shani Strand's first solo show in New York. The exhibition includes sculptures and wall-hangings that confront the history of colonization and industrialization in Jamaica.

In a quilt-like piece, I want to go to heaven but I'm afraid to fly (Sunday school) (2019-2020), for instance, Strand invokes the tradition of Christianity on the island insofar as its legacy in the region intersects with the erasure of indigenous culture brought on by the arrival of Spanish settlers in the 16th century.
