Jesse Wine
Imperfect List
After closing in March due to the pandemic, SculptureCenter reopens with “Imperfect List,” Jesse Wine’s first solo presentation at a museum in the United States. Installed within the institution’s labyrinthian lower level, the exhibition showcases new ceramic works crafted by the British artist, who, currently based in Brooklyn, has gained acclaim on both sides of the Atlantic.
Buildings, trucks, and semi-abstract human forms—many of which Wine has rendered on a monumental scale—are among the subjects on view. In conversation with each other, the pieces collectively engage with notions of public versus private life.
