Drawing on archival material, the new documentary Wojnarowicz: F**k You F*ggot F**ker seeks to better understand the life and times of the late artist David Wojnarowicz. For its annual festival, DOC NYC has made the film available via its online screening platform for a limited time.

The narrative weaves together a dynamic and vivid portrait of Wojnarowicz through his journals, photographs, and audio and video recordings. The result is a heartwrenching yet impactful overview of Wojnarowicz's short but influential life: from his troubled childhood, to his sexual identity, to his emergence on the East Village art scene in the 1980s, to his confronting the AIDS epidemic as an activist—and to, after testing positive, reckoning with his own mortality before ultimately succumbing to the disease in 1992 at 37 years old.
